I love my day job.
It’s a great job, and I feel so blessed to have it.
The amount of training I have had to go to since I started is SO LONG.
I like to learn fast. I did my master's online, and it was self-paced. I plan on doing the same for my Doctorate (yes, that’s a thing).
My Bachelor’s degree was 50% online, and I did SO MUCH to get out of as many classes as possible.
I’m not sure if it is my inability to focus on things IDGAF about for long periods or that I just learn quickly… idk. I always feel like I’m being strangled mentally when I’m stuck in training/classes.
It’s especially frustrating when I’ve already learned the information, and I’m just in training to learn two things.
The last issue with half of these trainings is that I work for a nonprofit that is part of a GOVT initiative for birth to 5 kids…. I love kids but I am NOT an education person. I’ve never had an interest in it. That’s why I am a business consultant. I understand why it is helpful for me to learn it…. but I’ve done it lol
It’s just hard for my brain some times lol
I will survive but I had nothing to write so here we are lol
Ok bye for now

I feel you on wanting to mentally GTFO when you're not interested or it feels redundant or not necessary 🥲🥲🥲 SO PAINFUL. Sending you hugs and I hope time speeds up for you during these times! 💕
it's not you...it's the poor quality of the trainings and trainers. Way too many trainings, especially corporate trainings are based in lecture and talking heads...and this is just not how the brain learns. You only really absorb and engage with about 7% of what you listen to in lecture.
A truly talented trainer can make the most boring content interesting by making it relateable and personal and engageable for the participants. On the other hand, a very poor trainer or teacher can make the most intriguing subject absolutely yawn-ful.
this is the state of the world these days. academia has ruined the quality of education by trying to scale it to large classrooms of lots of people by delivering talking head lectures. so stupid. and then they blame the students when quality control goes out the window. It's really about poor education.
